Sustainable Development Goals
On 1 January 2016, the 17 SDGs of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development officially came into force. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity adopted by UN General Assembly and supported by the SDGs. The SDGs are not legally binding but governments are expected to take ownership and establish national frameworks for the achievement of the Goals.
They encourage and promote effective public, public-private and civil society partnerships in order to succeed. Our ambition is to contribute to all SDGs in our activities, but to focus on those most relevant for our business where we can contribute the most. For the Volvo Group, this means focusing on:
